阿兹夫定是全球首个双靶点抗艾滋病创新药，已在中国、美国等多个国家申请专利并获授权。作为一款抗病毒小分子口服药，阿兹夫定具有广谱抑制 RNA 病毒复制的作用，而新冠病毒同属 RNA 作为遗传物质的病毒，因此该药对新冠病毒有抑制作用。

2020 年 4 月以来，阿兹夫定先后在国内外获批开展 Ⅲ 期临床试验。临床试验结果显示：

（1）显著改善临床症状：阿兹夫定片可以显著缩短中度的新型冠状病毒感染肺炎患者症状改善时间，提高临床症状改善的患者比例，达到临床优效结果。首次给药后第 7 天临床症状改善的受试者比例阿兹夫定组 40.43%，安慰剂组 10.87%（P 值 < 0.001），受试者临床症状改善的中位时间阿兹夫定组与安慰剂组有极显著统计学差异（P 值 < 0.001）。（PPS 集）

（2）抑制新冠病毒作用：阿兹夫定具有抑制新冠病毒的活性，病毒清除时间为 5 天左右。
