Completely independent intellectual property rights! China third-generation nuclear power technology "Guohe No. 1" has been developed

According to CCTV News, the State Power Investment Group announced today that my country’s third-generation nuclear power technology "Guohe No. 1" with completely independent intellectual property rights has completed research and development. "Guohe No. 1" is one of my country's sixteen major scientific and technological projects. It represents the advanced level of three generations of nuclear power technology in the world today and is the latest achievement of my country's nuclear power technology research and development and industrial innovation.

Zheng Mingguang, chief engineer of Nuclear Energy of State Power Investment Corporation, chief designer of "Guohe No. 1", said that "Guohe No. 1" can provide the society with powerful electricity. For example, it can provide 1.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per hour to the grid, so it can basically provide nearly 13 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity every year, and it can also provide heating for the society in winter.

The report pointed out that the "Guohe-1" nuclear power unit has a design life of 60 years, and the probability of serious accidents is 100 times lower than that of the second-generation nuclear power unit. The annual power generation of a single unit can meet the electricity demand of more than 22 million residents, and can reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions by more than 9 million tons per year.
